Hi Ted;
Your rifle was made in 1965. There were several different models produced. The difference between them was pretty much determined by the stock, sights, and trigger. With a detailed description I should be able to identify the exact model. Thanks Steve! Will email you a picture tomorrow. Ted Did you try to send the pic? If so, I didn't get it.

Had a massive PC crash almost two weks ago, and am operating on my ancient laptop.
Supposed to have the PC back and running tomorrow. will send you the pictures as soon as that happens.

I have a Husqvarna barreled action in 30-06 with what appears to be the FN Mauser style action. It has the three position military style safety, but no thumb cut or clip slot for loading from a clip. Rifle has standard Rocky Mountain style rear sight and is drilled and tapper for a receiver sight. No drill and tap for a scope. SN# is 117XXX. I think it might be a 640, but don't know for sure. It sure does have a nice slick action. I have seen the info on Pettson's place. Paul B.

I have been trying to determine the model of a unfired Husky I bought from a friend of my father's but have not been able too. It's a push feed action and has a straight comb stock w/ cheek piece with the Schnabel for-end in 30/06. Has hooded front sight and a folding rear sight. These have the smoothest actions I've ever handled for a factory bolt action.

dusty61; Your rifle was made in 1964. The model 3100 Crown Grade would have a straight comb stock (not a Monte Carlo) with either a rounded black plastic or angled rosewood forend tip. The barrel would be 24" If your's is different, let me know and I will identify the model for you. Hi,

PaulB; Yes, it is a commercial FN mauuser 98 action. The serial number indicates it was a 640 made in 1951. RDFinn; It sounds like your rifle is a 1900 action gun and could be the model called the "Swede". The serial number and barrel length would allow me to confirm that. Hello All, I'm new to this forum. I just bought a Huaqvarna .243 that is just like the one pictured in this thread. It has a cheap Tasco scope that was on the gun when I bought it. I bought a box of 85 grain factory loads and took it to the range. To my utter amazement My first five shots at 100 yds were an inch high and an inch to the left of the bulls eye and you could cover them all with a quarter! I think this gun is late fifties early sixties era. I'll post the serial number tomorrow, perhaps some of the folks here can help me figure out the age of this gun. I just bought a new Leupold 3x9 scope and had it mounted. I have a friend loading two boxes of match grade ammunition which I will try out this weekend. I'm really excited about this little .243 for use as a varmint gun. It's little beat up but I don't mind at all. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow. Kixonrt66

Hello Steve, My Husqvarna .243 is serial number 247738A. Could you help me date this rifle? Also, do you have any information as to how many rifles of this type were made in .243 I think my rifle is a 1640 action and the stock has a small schnable type fore end. Any information that you can provide regarding date of manufacture and production numbers in .243 would be much appreciated. Regards, Tom Kixonrt66

Can you guys tell me anything about the Husqvarna VADENTARIKS?
I'm kind of intrigued by one in .30-06. I haven't been able to find any info about this rifle online as of yet. Would it be any problem to mount a scope on this? Thank you!

SBHVA welcome to the Campfire. Despite my site name I don't claim your expertise. We've chatted breifly before, I think on gunboards, mainly about deer hunting in Wisconsin. I only own three Husqvarnas, two 1900's and a Higgins 51L all in 30-06, but I truly love them. In the 1970's I was a dealer and rifle range master and ordered several Husqvarnas for my customers becaused they were the best buys at the time. You'll be an asset on the fire as there are frequent questions about the various models.

You guys done kilt me. I just had to order one. Check it out: http://www.sarcoinc.com/images/showroomguns09/t15957.jpgJust ordered it today... Husky German LR chambered to 9.3x57 for $220 shipped... with FFL xsfer it'll end up costing me less than $300!! I'm SUPER geeked! Check out the other listings they have, including this '96 for $150: http://www.sarcoinc.com/images/showroomguns09/sw2768.jpgAnd look at this one!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH! So many rifles, so little time: http://www.sarcoinc.com/images/showroomguns09/t18397.jpg"T18397 Serial # 40814 Husqvarna Vapenfabrinks Aktie Bolag 1942, 9.3x57mm - bore very good, wood 95%, finish 98%, overall condition 98%. Beautiful hunting rifle! 9.3x57mm is a flat straight canon ball of a round. Good for all big game hunting. Its not tapped for a scope. Has a Swedish Mauser action with a bent bolt handle for scope clearance. Not cracks or chips in wood. Looks very good inside. Very accurate rifle... $350.00 " If I had the cash for that last one I'd bore my LR to x62 and get this as her "little sister" and kill sumpin wid 'em!!
