I recently purchased a Savage Sporter 23C bolt action in .32-20 serial # 46834 and help as to age would be Much Appreciated!!!

Data collection has not progressed much since this posting started. From what I have I would guess that your rifle was produced 1926 plus or minus a year. I think your rifle will letter and would show the date it shipped.

Thanks for the response!! What does "Will Letter" mean?? You lost me on that Where can I find this information myself?

It means you can send a request to the Savage historian (along with a check  ) and get a factory letter for it. Should tell you at least when it was made in the factory and when it was shipped. Look in the "Misc Good Info" thread and search for Callahan, it will have details on sending for a factory letter.
