PB, ohh about 6 hours. On the first trip I put 40 on a 99H BBC. 30-30 in nice shape if you didn't mind a dried up recoil pad stuck on the cut stock. Had to think on it. Don't have a BBC and wanted one as a shooter but didn't want to pay near collector price for this shooter. So I went back to get the dough and free up his stock. Looked at everything again and left. The third was the charm.

Nice pickup. Allen just started selling on GB.99c 7mm-08 NIB just sold and second time around on a 99 358 NIB.Both look to have been wet to me.The 7mm-08 had a rust spot on reciever and the 358 looks as if the butt is stianed and end of box looks like label was wet. RP

Maybe it's the newbie showing through but who would pay $2200 for a 300 EG? Man the 300 EG'S are a dime a dozen.Sorry for the hijack Steve99.

Lots of 300 EG's.. but VERY few New In Box. That's what makes it worth the big $$.
Take the box away or shoot it and 60% of the price goes with it.

Thanks all.
As I said wasn't looking for an EG, not particularly fond of the stock style. Must come fom hangin' out here, with Cal the exception. Red makes a good point. My take is new in the box is worth going after if priced right no matter the caliber. Always good trade fodder if not for your own collection. This one in 250 was icing.
Fug, now that will give me a warm fuzzy. Not a great deal but a fair deal. Thanks for that.
Rick, thanks for the confirmation. A birthday rifle is always nice.

RP,
If those sold within the last week or so from Allan they probably came from this collection he bought. I didn't see those on auction. But what was left yesterday at the store was nothin special. Someone with a sharper eye and more knowledge might could find something I missed, probably would, but none were in collector condition but priced at or near collector prices. There is an saddle ring carbine there, with the stud and ring. Silvered receiver, don't remember if the stock is cracked or not. Seems that was at 1900.00 IIRC.

Original box adds 10%. The buyer of the 300 EG NIB for 2530$,I pity.

Jericho,
I didn't see them but it could very well be. He moves a lot of guns through there. Small shop but has been there for more than 100 years according to the owner. Same family since the start.

60% ???? Seems a tad low
Just kuz someone with more cash then brains plunked 2.5 K doesn't mean that's what its worth.
Same gun (.300 EG as new box and P & T) has been advertised for over a month @ $1300 and apparently is STILL for sale cuz the ad keeps running.

Your opinion, there is a difference in collecting true collectables and junk shooters.Guy must have some smarts or would not be able to have that kind of money. RP
