answered your PM.....but for everyone else's benefit, custom stock with a blind magazine done by Jim's Custom Guns in Lubbock Texas.........and i can not in good conscience recommend him......the SOB refused to send me a invoice for work done after several phone calls over a few months........its supposed to be kevlar but i have serious doubts.....you can seriously scar the stock with a fingernail......lots of minor things wrong with the metal work on the rifle aswell........

Did it look similar to these? The top 2 are M1917 Enfield actions made by Rem. They have been rebarreled and re-stocked. The bottom, is a sporterized M1917 marked Win. BTW, I like the cock on closing feature. ETA: The actions are on the heavy side. Its hard to make a rifle with them under 8 pounds if that matters. $230 is a very decent price for a good looking one unless the barrel is shot out. Who made the laminated stocks?

The bolt release/ejector leaf spring needs to be replaced with a coil spring. the leaf springs are bad to break. I can second that. My Remington's spring is broken right now.

ok, tnyoteboy, bust open two or three ball-point pens. pull the springs, and look for a likely candidate, then cut to size, then fit into place. gosh, i wish i could draw picture of how to do it, or properly describe it. google, and see what happens. it's been so many years ...

Dinger,
I'd be all over that rifle, even if it had a bad barrel on it... sure it can be had for less than that price, but also more than that price to boot...I love 1917 Enfields.. I have one that is Winchester Manufacture, but has a Remington made barrel on it..
BEND.... I like your style there my fellow Oregonian! Those 3 Enfields are gorgeous! An Enfield doesn't have Corvette Beauty, it more like has a 53 Buick Beauty to it.. because they are built like a 53 Buick...
I could be happy with an entire gun cabinet full of Enfields and Springfields...

45nut, Where did you get the stocks for your enfields. I just picked up a Model 30 Remington that had been re-barreled to 35 Whelen but looking to replace the current handle. Thanks for the info.
