Does anyone know the size? A friends has a small burr in one of the holes and when I went to clean it up I realized the 6x48 is not a prefect match. Its a #6 screw but the threads were a touch larger than 6x48. I considered opening it to an 8x40 but have deferred for the time being.

Thanks, I will double check and recalibrate my eyeballs in better light. I was worried it was a goofy metric and did not want to screw up the threads.

Mine was M3.5x3 - just checked as it took forever to find them.
The Burris bases I bought for it came with 6-48 screws.

Fireball, Thanks for the tip, I guess I need to grab a 3.5x3 and see which it is for sure.

I finally got an answer back from Beretta and they state all T-3 stainless are 6x48, they did not offer any info on the other models.

a little known fact is that the Tikkas use the same screw hole spacing front and rear as a Model 70. A couple or three years ago I had a nice M65 Tikka Deluxe in 30-06(had another a bit later but that's another story). Not satisfied with the ring/base options for the Tikkas I took a set of Leupold QD bases that were on a Model 70 I had bought and milled the bottoms flat...voila...a set of Leupold QD's for a Tikka......sold it later...it's out there somehwere....

I've got Warne Maximas on my 4 Tikka Whitetails and have been very pleased. Why put something between the ring and the receiver if you don't have to?
