With 4 bonus point one would think that I could draw a tag but one would be wrong. The state of Montana does not allow me to hunt. Some say that deer hunting in Montana is good, well if you are never allowed to hunt there what would you call it????????
I have never drawn a tag in my life and I am 51 years old. I may die without ever drawing a tag. The system is garbage. And the state of montana is apparently an large national park. Hunting is not allowed' at least not for me. Now with 5 bonus point I have $120 invested in nothing.

Only one thing left to do.
Move...
As a side note the hunting can be good(or bad) for several reasons.

It's the first time I've put in (third time) with a buddy as a party and not drawn the big game combo. I drew a few years ago with a friend. Then solo strike out the next. Then drew with a different hunting partner and homerun again. Took last year off and put in with a 3rd buddy this year and we struck out. He's the unlucky buddy and I'm never calling him again. Mark

My uncle is going to be pissed. Damn, I really love hunting Montana. Now I've got to figure out what to do here in Oregon. At least I've got a ton of antelope points for Oregon and will draw for sure this year. Should be a little fun at least.

There are 2 more drawings: May 1st for sheep, goat and moose. Try drawing a ewe tag.
June 1st for cow elk, doe deer and antelope. I have enjoyed hunting cow elk and have kill many more cows than bulls. Enjoy hunting and go while you are able. There is not a 6 point around every bush.

Ah, he's gonna need an elk tag prior to be able to apply for cow tags as well...

I think you are wrong.
This is the first year that a B12 license can be bought with out a general license. This is what they said at the Bozeman meeting that we both attended.
Elk A9/B12 License - The A9 (resident) and B12 (nonresident) license is an anterless elk license. A Conservation License is the required prerequsite. A B12 non resident license cost $273.

MarlinMark: Are you saying that even as a resident in your home state you have to get enough points to hunt antelope? Or is it just antelope because of limited numbers? How about deer or other big game?

7" of Snow last Monday, a Bozeman record high of 76* yesterday, and 40 mph winds today... all that and no tags for non-residents.
Yup, MT sure do suck!
