Just buy a Stevens rifle in your caliber/bolt face of your choice...yank off the barrel & sell it unfired for $60...

I have yet to run across a used Stevens 200 for sale in a pawnshop or a gunshop, only new ones. Who carries the new ones on a regular basis?

Stevens 200, Savage 110, same-same except for the rear scope base on the pre-accutrigger models.

Be careful with the newer center feed actions, as there are not many stocks out that fit them yet. Nick

Just go buy the whole gun. 200's are pretty new on the market, and people are learning to keep their Salvages. I bought the 200 after trolling pawnshops and gun shops for over a year hoping for a Model 10/12 or similar that had had a mean, impoverished owner. The factory barrel shot in the sixes with the second load I tried, which impressed me. So that barrel is in the "project file."
