The dude at the hardware store told me to use Minwax polyurethane as a clear coat. Is that gonna work?

I'd R&D it on a test piece first before doing the stock...

Some times if things ain't right what you spray on will "lift" what's underneath.

I've never put Minwax Poly over paint.....

I thought it sounded kinda strange but I know zero about painting, clear coats, etc.. Would be a good idea to do a tester first.

Why do these paints need clear anyway? The color I painted today is perfect, a nice dusty olive, should look sweet once I get the black webbing on it.

Wont the clear make it shiny? Mine is a hunting rig and I want it as flat as possiable.

Not to sound like a total dope, but what is
Fusion? Krylon is almost nonexistant here and I was lucky to find what I got, the stuff I used was Krylon in a camo can, is that Fusion?

And if its not should I plan on clear coating?

Is this what you used?

I couldn't find any so that's why I went with the plastic primer and Rustoleum camo.

Here's how the Rusto green turned out. Much better than the brown IMO.

There are a few rough spots that need a light sanding before the final coat.

Thanks, it's for an ADL in .270. Gonna get a 6X36 Leupold with dots to keep things simple.

Might want to be careful using spray paint around a gas water heater or any open flame for that matter.

Great looking work. I just bought the kit from cabelas that has the 4 colors of paint and stencils. Plan on re doing the stock on my savage 308.
