As i prevously posted under shotshell reloading i am going to try casting slugs. I like the Lee mold, other people seem to be happy with it, and it cheep . But i know nothing about casting.
What do i do?
How much stuff do i need to order from midway?
Is bird-shot okay for casting (the slugs are in a wad so they don't tuch burning powder or the barrel)

First thing I would do is pick up the book "cast bullet handbook" from Lyman. Give it a read. It is easy to read and entertaining. It will give you a definite "feel" if you really want to persue casting bullets or not.
If you do! GREAT, welcome!
I would recommend the starter kit from Lyman, Midway usually carries it for about a hundred dollars. This will include all you need to cast your own, EXCEPT the mould (lee are good and cheap, and good bullet moulds too! I have several) and some bullet mould handles. this will add about another hundred dollars to your cost. Lead can be had from a Hospitals nuclear med dept, or the gas station wheel weights.
Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.
When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.
PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.
