I agree. Treat them like the great single shots they are and leave the magazine in the gun safe.

If you need magazines Midway has them for the Nylon 77. They work very well in the 541/581 Remingtons. They are still made of plastic but work better than the originals. I ordered them for my rifles. They fit snugly with no wobble and feeding has been 100 percent.

That's good info.. Didn't know those would interchange..

It seems a bit, um, high... But who knows??

The 541S were real nice rifles and fetch $400-$600 or more depending on the buyers desire.

At the price they are looking to get for the 547, they had better shoot better than a 541 which I doubt, heck they better shoot as good as an Anschutz.
Check out the price... $1000... being a "Custom Shop" rifle they aren't planning on selling many.

Honestly speaking, I will be disappointed if the the 547's don't rival an Anschutz. Once you get to 0.5" groups at 50 yds, it is hard to squeese them down to 0.25". I believe my test target is about a one-inch at 100 yds (measured outside to outside); essentially about 0.5" with a flyer. So there is some potential there with careful ammo selection.

Too bad we can't use the Ruger 10/22 type mags in everything. That would improve most any other rifle.

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.
