Thanks.

I used to shoot 60 gr. bullets in my Ruger #1V, because it had the early long throat. I used 60 Hornady SPs with 34.0 of H4895. Good accuracy. I don't knkow the speed as I didn't have a chrony back then.

Some 22-250's will shoot the 60's and some won't. I even had a Remingtion with the 1:14 twist that shot them just fine. My current Savage with the 1:12 shoots them just fine.

Both the Remy and the Savage like this load with the 60 gr. Partitions: 36.5grs.-H-380, Win brass, WLR primers.

Thanks guys. I am shooting 60 grain hornadys over IMR 4064 and accuracy is typically 0.75 inch at 100 yards. I wanted to try and shrink the groups some more (just for fun) and wanted some ideas on some different powders to try. thanks again.

Your 4064 load is my deer load in the 22-250 and I also use that bullet in the 222 and 223 for deer..or at least all my kids and grand kids have used it..It expands perfectly and usually makes a quarter size exit hole..We have shot a lot of deer and antelope with that bullet.

Colin-I've run a 22/250 a fair bit and normally with 60 Hornady's and or 63 Sierra's. I've used R15, H414 and Varget for the most part.

I've had incredible success in getting the 63 Sierra to bug hole and would encourage you to give them a try. They're ugly but boy do they ever shoot and incredibly effective on deer/lopes/yotes.

Good luck to ya

IMR 4064 has long been my favored powder for 50gr and 55gr varmint loads, but for the 60gr Partition, found 38gr of IMR 4350 did much better. R-P cases, CCI 200 primers.

One side benefit in my rifle: The 60gr Partition load shoots to within a quarter inch of the 55gr Btip zero @ 100 yards.

If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.
