I have recently purchased two Swedish rolling block rifles. One is chambered in 8x58r Danish, and the second is a 12.7X44. I have some cast bullet load data for both. However, was wondering if anyone else shoots these 1870's vintage rifles, and would share their load data. The former Norma jacketed loads for the 8x58r are out of this world hot in a 5-6 lb rifle.

I bought a 8x58R and I am waiting for dies. I havent shot it yet. What is the bore size of yours? I slugged mine and, as well as I can measure, it will shoot .323 bullets.

These are neat rifles. My 1872 mod 67/89 Crown C ( Carl Gustaf) slugged at .324. Have you made a chamber cast, to see how large the throat is? I have heard of large variances in chamber throat dimensions, and mine is included in this lot. Are you going to shoot cast only? Have you worked out a starting load? I am interested in hearing your ideas.

Hello Ohiocruffler! I am currently using reloader #7. I was told by a good friend and co-worker to try some Nobel Ba9. I bought some and plan to use it soon.

Mine slugged at ~323 (the best I can measure). It is an 1875 67/89. I have brass and my dies should be here any day.

I am going to try to shoot BP in it as well as smokeless. I am going to try some 4895 (as that is what is suggested in CoTW).

4895 sounds interesting. Would like to hear how that goes for you.
