When I was in College, I had a 1970 Honda SL350 Motosport. It was the greatest dual purpose bike you could get. I traded it off on a 1963 Austin Healey Sprite. A girl ran into the back of me and totaled the Sprite. That was 36 years ago...

Now I am reliving my youth and decided I wanted to get back what I once had. Since my youth is not available, I decided to look for an SL350. It's not yet complete but here are a couple of pictures...





Anyone else got the same ideas?

Very cool. I have a basket case Kaw H1 in my garage. It just needs a hone, new pistons and rings, a new paint job, rubber and a chain. EOM parts are crazy expensive for these old bikes. Aftermarket parts aren't much cheaper. Every time I get back to restoring it a new big expense come up. One day...

I don't think I'd want any of the old bikes I used to have back. The new ones are just so much nicer. Now that Sprite or my old MGB, those I would enjoy having.

I'd give anything to have my old '68 BMW back.

I had 1 of those in orange for awhile in 1974. Much too heavy a rig for a 165 lbs. 16 year old to try and haul around the woods of northern New England! I was happy the day that I bought it and happier still the day that I traded it toward a new Honda MT-250. We live, we learn!

I believe the one I had when I was 12 was a 175cc. It cost me $300 that I made cutting cabage for truck farmers and haulin' hay. It was my transportation to work until I got old enough to drive (legally). I think I sold it after about 3 years and several back tires for $350.

I loved that bike, but the muffler was the worst design ever. I did a lot of crazy stuff with it and ended up laying it down...a lot....most of the time wearing shorts. My "calves" are still branded.
