I don't see anything wrong with the "June Cleaver" example and I don't see it as sexist. I see it as June taking pride in her responsibilities. Just as many men are the primary provider for the family along with the duties as master spider killer. Sometimes it is the best utilization of resources and abilities.

There is nothing wrong with the traditional American family. I was a stay at home mom for most of the years my kids were growing up. But I was no June Cleaver by any means although I did have my own Beaver Cleaver(Les).
I would love to see families going back to being traditional families again, but the reality is I don't see it happening. There is too much, 'I have to have it all now' and the only way to get it is by both parents working.
I don't think it is sexist by the way. In today's world though I don't see it happening. I guess I'm too much of a realist.

The only reason couples find it hard to have single wage earner households these days is socialism in America, i.e., high taxes and redistribution. Add to that the devalued dollar, and you have your answer.

The only reason couples find it hard to have single wage earner households these days is socialism in America, i.e., high taxes and redistribution. Add to that the devalued dollar, and you have your answer. I don't agree that's the main reason. It's the modern day assault on traditional roles, materialism and the so-called female liberation. If a couple wants to get married and raise a family, then ONE needs to stay home and raise the children and forgo the more expensive things in life. I've sated my issues with a woman in the role of VP (or any other executive position, not t mention the martial professions) but I am more than willing to give this fine lady the benefit of the doubt and more importantly, she is LIGHT years ahead of any democrap. jorge
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

Les, if you're normal, you don't have anything to worry about but the rest of us do!
"Good enough" isn't.
Always take your responsibilities seriously but never yourself.
