I love a good yarn.

Don't worry about the CZ- my Ruger 77's (both purchased used) work just as well....--as do the two used '98's and the two used 700's.... smile

Nice bull and a great story.

Since I have had a new 5.5" stainless bisley in .45 sitting in the safe for a few years, any other work on the revolver other than the sights and base pin?

You MADE bring that revolver out tonight as a result of your photos! Mine could use a oversize base pin fitted and a trigger job for a good start.

That's pretty cool taking a nice bull with a wheelgun.

Thanks for the interesting story and the pic's. An AK moose taken cleanly with a Ruger in 45 LC is very, very cool.

I hope you're kidding!

I love this thread every time I see it though.

kciH,

Belt Mountain base pin and Clements Custom Gun custom higher front sight. Clements also replaced the rear sight with another factory sight. He said the old one was worn or something like that.

Brian's partner, Cliff is full blooded Eskimo from Shishmaref. He took all the moose's fat, especially that from around the kidney. They eat it raw, I think. Yuck!

Well, it's 21 Jan 2009 and it's been 4 months since I returned from my Seward peninsula adventure. My friend, Dan, finally sent me a copy of his pics so I thought I'd share them with you all to break up some mid-winter monotony.

Our Alaska Taxi on a gravel bar on the American River.

No going home now.

The locals call them Obama heads. I called them "hell to walk through".

Incredibly open country. Bull and three cows. Can you see them?

The reason we came. This is the bear I went after but shot my bull instead.

I love this shot. I was on my knees when we were taking some pics and the weight literally pulled me over.

Muskox morning. These were about 150 yds from camp the morning I shot my bull.

Headum up and move'em out! Camp is packed up and were heading back to civilization. At this point, Dan had not shot his bear. We found him about 2-3 hours later

Very cool pictures, thanks for putting them up. Looks like you guys had quite a time, and that is one hell of a camp they have out there.
