Heck use and hunt with what you have and apologize to no one. I will not look down my nose by any means. Besides if it gets you in the field then that is all that matters!

Hay guys I'm not ashamed of it. Iy serves my purpose and in the wet locations I hunt it's ideal for the climate. It's just not as purdy as some of those shown at the top of the thread, it's a working gun not a gun safe dweller.

The reason it's pictured in the holster is because it's the only picture I've got of it. I guess I should break out the digital camera and take a few pictures of it and of some of the other junk I have laying around herethat I use for shooting and hunting.

I got busy and shot a better photo of it.



The Holster is a Simply Rugged Pancake Holster w/IWB Optional Loops.

I built this one several years ago (under the tutelage of a master S&W gunsmith). I wanted a 5" Classic, but preferred a square butt design. I started with a 8 3/8" M629-3 square butt and ended up with this Classic. It now wears Hogue Goncho Alves one piece finger groove grips - those S&W target grips will work on your hands! I use a 200 grain handload and find it to be the perfect "bedroom" load: Hornady 200 XTP, Win WLP, FED case, 15.0 grains Blue Dot. Will eat one ragged hole at 10 yards, standing with a two hand grip.

I am envious!!! You guys have some fine iron and even finer animals! Here are three more 44's..... Dan Wesson 445 SuperMags (hunting pards) S&W 29-2 [img] [img]http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff127/nkhoff/100_1413.jpg[/img] Bullets I cast are L to R, 200 LBT WFN (loaded for S&W), RCBS 250-K, LBT 280 WFN, LBT 280 LFN, LBT 300 WFN and LBT 350 WFN, 445 SM with 300 WFN.

My Redhawk; 7 1/2 blue with tall front for the last two bullets mentioned. Sorry for the crappy pics.

biglmbass, those stocks are made up from English walnut, I make them. My son Shane does the rifle stocks & I do the handgun stocks.
This is maybe half of the pattern stocks in my son's shop. You can see the Dakota duplicating machine on one side & uder the cover is the Hoenig machine.

Holly, as in holly bush? Have 5 of those "sticker bushes" around my place. I never would have guessed thier wood to useful for anything.

2Crow, I had been eyeing it up for awhile. Up here it takes forever for handgun permitting.

I always thought that Colt's were well made but I don't know a lot about them. I see a lot said about S&W, Ruger and Taurus but very little about the Anaconda. It appears to be well made though and as soon as my transport permits come in I'll get it out to the range and see how it shoots.
