Most of these guys on Gunbroker really need a reality check.

The last one I saw sold for $650 about a year ago.
Unless Marlin has another production run on these I'd imagine the price will go even higher, especially looking at how high current production prices are.

I have a ANIB Marlin 39TDS... And looking at it, other than the rifle being very short, which makes it very handy, I'm wondering what makes it so sought after...

If the price goes much higher on the TDS, I'll sell this, one and buy a high quality bolt action 22.

Your right, short, ugly little carbine;). I agree that there isn't anything special about them except they aren't made any more and collectors, as a rule, are crazy sumbitches.

I'd be happy to take yours off of your hands for say.. $500.00

I have one but I loaned it to my brother in law for my nieces and nephews to use until my kids got bigger. They pretty much screwed it up. It was LNIB now it is 70% on a good day.

I only gave $250 for it back in 2000. I wonder what Marlin would want to rejuvenate mine. (read: totally refinish it, wood and bluing)

Offer is serious on my end, and as high as I can/will go.

Then again, somebody might trade you that boltgun for your TDS.

I half way understand the attention the 39s get. But the prices scare the sh%#!t out of me. I have an affliction for the model 56, and 57, and got both of em for the price of one nice 39. Have one of each in great shape. Won't make one big hole at 50 yards, but good enough to go squirrelin. Gotta love the Levermatics.

I saw another TDS went for big bux on gunbroker, $695.00 asking price.

then again, I saw a brand new 39a on sale for $522.00 yesterday.

Devaluation of the dollar, I'm sure.

Actually, those prices are a little below southern California rifle prices.

I have seen a ANIB 39TDS sell for $750.00 here in southern California. And It sold just as soon as it was placed on the for sale rack...!

I don't think those prices, you listed, are a reflection of the devaluation of the dollar, because they are a made in the USA product. However, I think they do reflect the inflation that we are experiencing now.

Hey SW,

My attempt at humor. Inflation-yes, law of supply and demand for a product no longer produced-yes.

I recently traded for an older TDS (like new without box but in soft side case), and if prices keep going up, I will definitely unload mine. I have wanted one for years, but I ain't in love with it.

The original soft cases seem to be rarer than the TDS.

Or, you could just send it to me and sleep well knowing that it's getting the crap shot shot of it. smile

In 1968 I bought a New Chev Pick up loaded for $2500. 00

Today I can't get one for $24,000.00 - and they still make them.

Here is ANOTHER one! How "rare" are these TDS guns? If this gun sells, mine will officially be for sale too.

Been watching this one. This "super Rare rifle" hasn't had one bid.

Little wonder at that starting price.
