I don't think you will find many. I went through the same thing a couple yrs back. There is an outfit tha specailizes in mounts, weaver style, for them, but I bought a std one and then you have to cut and extra groove across to fit most scopes. With the 2.5-8, you might find it too long to be solid. At leat I did. I found a smaller off brand scope about the size of the Simmons 22 mag scope that is 2-6 that works OK. Also you might find the 2.5-8 adsd too much weight to the Marlin, and interferes on the rear sight
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Would the leupold 2x7x33 be a better choice?

Then pick op a set of rings . Problem solved . This is not complicated . Or pick up a set of see through mounts / rings . I have a couple rifles set up this way , and will probably try to get away from them . Puts the scope too high . God bless Wyr

Redtick, I would stay away from either scope mentioned for the Marlin 1894. Both will work no doubt, but both are overkill. In either a 44 or a 357 the Marlin 1894 is a 100-150 yd deer rifle. Its biggest advantage is being light and handy. A scope even as big as the ones you are talking about can ruin the handling characteristics of your rifle. Buy a Leupold FX 2.5 fixed power or at most a 1-4X/1.5-5X. Trust me, this is all the power you will need for this rifle and will not ruin the balance and handling of the carbine. Mount it as low as possible in a Weaver base and low rings or Warne Maxima one or two peice bases and rings. With the straight tube of the scopes mentioned, you will not need to remove your rear sight, just fold it down.
Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.

Another excellent scope for the little 1894 is the Burris 4X Short-Mag. It is about the same size as the Leupold compact and is a perfect match for the Marlin. I just mounted one on a .357 Magnum Marlin yesterday so my nine year old daughter could deer hunt with me. The scope is a lot easier for her to use than the XS ghost ring that I prefer.

I totally agree about over-scoping a light carbine as I have a 7/8" tube Leupold Alaskan 2.5X on my 1894 and really like it.

I have Talley QDs on my Marlin 30-30 and a 3X Leupold...Like Joe the 2.5X, 4X or 6X Leupold Alaskans would be an outstanding choice, but they are bringing a pretty penney these days, if you can even find one..I would not part with mine..
