Two of the guys I hunt with both carry Ruger 77's and want to have them bedded, this is a job I have done in the past on Remington 700's and it seems to come out OK, not the best looking but seems to work fine. I prefer to farm it out to a pro but these guys dont have the $$ and they want me to do it for them. Any thing I need to know? Any tricks? Looks to be a breeze with the flat receiver.

I have managed to screw up two stocks on 77's. Never again. I will use someone who most certainly is an expert on 77's or I will simply use replacement stocks. It's that angle "thingy."

I would just do the lug area and go easy.

My first 77 bed job was a McMillan, but I had a bedded walnut handle to look at as a guide. As Tom said, just go easy. Nothing to worry about.

Now with even more aplomb
