150's to 140's. Hardly a big difference. You don't need to try to convince me on the merrits of the .308, it is my favorite cartridge.

I had several in bolt action forms and they were kitty cats in the recoil department. Just not the 7600, to me at least.

Here what I think the bulk of 7600 are used by regular deer hunters that just want to kill deer they are familiar with pumps, 7600 are accurate and reliable a great choice for deer hunting. These guys like more traditional calibers like the 30-06, 270, and 30-06 stuff they can buy ammo for at wal-mart or anywheres else and cartridges they are familiar with. I want one in 25-06 for yotes and deer.

Swampman700,I can't believe you'd make such a statement ! I got a Rem 700 in a 7mm-08 that will shoot sub - 1" groups all day long and have has a Winchester 70 and a Rem 700 in .308 that couldn't shoot 1 1/2" no matter what I did.I't all about the gun,not about the caliber when it comes to accuracy.

The .308 is the most accurate of the medium game calibers.

I have a 6.5x55 Tikka that kicks butt on any 308 I have now or have ever owned. Believe what you want, but understand you are pretty much alone in your opinion due to the experience of others.

Gotta chuckle at talk of inherent accuracy between the 7mm-08 and 308 when the talk is in regards to a pump rifle.
