Think about the Weaver Classic series, a 3X9 or 2X10 would be ideal. Check the recent thread on these. Best scope for the money, hands down IMO. Have been abusing several for some time now......

+1 Would add, Burris FF II as an alternative as well.

Would agree with that Brad. For slightly over $200 in the Burris you can also get a GPS, Binos, or spotter. It is a great deal with a very scope for the $.

Check out Pentax Pioneer 4.5-14x42mm @ $159.99 and the Pentax Pioneer 3-9x40mm @ $129.99These are the same as Burris FFII's but for the prices we're selling them at they can't be bested.

Bushy Elite 3200 3-9x40
The one I have is a lot like the 84 toyota pickup I used to have.
Not pretty, didn't get me any chicks.. But got me where I wanted to go, did what I needed it to do, didn't break down, and kept on going even with me thrashing the hell out of it.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

RL,I've only had the chance to look through one but the first thing I noticed about it was that the eye relief was MUCH better than Bushnell's specs showed.

I was 11yrs old when I first used a scoped deer rifle. It was an old Leupold vari-II 3x9. I have been a Leupold fan ever since that time. I think the big eye box of the Leupold helped me shoot better because the rifle was of adult proportions and did not allow me to get a precise sight picture.
Leupold 3X9 VX1 is the right scope.

Hello everyone, I'm still a newbie here, but I have to give Sightron a plug. All my rifles would have Big Skys, if I could afford to start over again, and if I could only afford $200, which is pretty much the case, I would get SIIs. That's not to say that my 3200s and 4200 Elites, and my Burris FII aren't great scopes for the money. Give Sightrons a look.

I would go with a Weaver 3x9 or 2.5x10. I think they represent a solid value for a repeatable product with good glass.

A friend of mine who has $200 wants to get a new scope for a Remington 700 sps .243 for his son. I bought a Simmons Atec 2.8x10x44 about five years ago for my slug gun and it has held zero perfect except when I dropped it one year. I think I paid around 170.00 for it. I think it may still be under 200.00 not sure though. Also any of the above mentioned scopes by the other guys would be good also.
magnums the only way to shoot
