the bbl is good(at high vel.) for about 1000-1100 rds, with constant scoping after 600. you figure.
IMHO, 300 rounds is just getting broke in. For what it's worth, I called Weatherby to discuss bbl life a couple years ago because I was concerned about a used .30-.378 I was considering at the time. The guy I spoke to said the gun they use to test scopes that got returned was a .30-.378 and it had about 10,000 log'd rounds thru it, three round groups each test, and the accuracy had improved over time.
