THIS WAS STARTED BY THE UN AND IS BEING DISCUSSED IN CNADA AS WELL.

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded..

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee,Maine,Newhampshire and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

Only ones with ammo will be the bad guys, and anyone else who does not comply will be a criminal. What a POS piece of legislation.

The reality is that the individuals pushing such legislation know it will make no difference in criminal activity. They do it simply because it is a step towards eliminating firearm ownership.
Debate will not win against these people as they have no intention of listening to anything we have to say.

Thats some crappy stuff guys. I agree that it won't solve anything. I see that kind of like I see gun registration here in Canada. The people who are gonna do stupid criminal things with guns or ammo aren't going to register anything anyway! All it does is put a thorn in the side of responsible gun users.

As for that coming to Canada, I will be pretty pissed! They just finally started going through the motions of getting rid of the need to register non-restricted firearms.

My question is, what happens to all of the .303sav ammo and stuff that you can't get except for old stuff or making your own? Based on this garbage, all of the original stuff would need to be destroyed! I guess the question would be whether or not this would apply to all ammunition or just certain types.

This kind of stuff sure keeps my lids from getting heavy when bedtime comes. Eventually, I think most of us will gravitate to Texas. Even though I don't have positive memories of living in Houston, much of Texas is pretty darn nice country. And, there is a mentality down there that is about as far from the thinking behind these proposed ammunition laws as you can get. I received this forward the other day. Although it is meant to be humorous, there is some good points here:

THE COUNTRY of TEXAS

Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede
from the Union . (Reference the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of
1848.)

We Texans love y'all, but we'll probably have to take action since
Barack Obama & the Dems won the election. We'll miss you too.

Here is what can happen:

1: Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States , and
Texas immediately secedes from the Union .

2: George W. Bush will become the President of the Republic of Texas
. You might not think that he talks too pretty, but we haven't had
another terrorist attack, and the economy was fine until the effects
of the Democrats lowering the qualifications for home loans ca me to
roost.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston , Texas . We will control the space
industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States .

3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess
with Texas ," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will
need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we
don't know. Why not ask Obama?

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need and it's too bad about
those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will have to figure out
a way to keep them warm....

6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips
and communications equipment -small companies like Texas Instruments,
Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola,
Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Miconductor, Dallas
Semiconductor, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research,
the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well
as other large health centers. The Houston Medical Center
alone employees over 65,000 people.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us getting smarter: University of
Texas , Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Rice, SMU, University
of Dallas , University of Houston , Baylor, UNT ( University of North
Texas ), Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South
anyway.

9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force, and it isn't
restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in Te xas, it's a Right to Work
State and, therefore, it's every man and woman for themselves. We
just go out and get the job done. And if we don't like the way one
company operates, we get a job somewhere else.

10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance
industries, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard,
the Texas Air National Guard, and several military bases. We don't
have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles
and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one.
If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department
of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and
several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget
seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook
them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

13. Three of the ten large st cities in the United States , and
twenty-three of the 100 largest cities in the United States , are
located in Texas . And Texas also has more land than California , New
York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts,
Maryland , Rhode Island and Vermont combined.

14. Trade: Three of the ten largest ports in the United States are
located in Texas .

15. We also manufacture cars down here, but we don't need to. You
see, nothi ng rusts in Texas , so our vehicles stay beautiful and run
well for decades, well most of the time.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of
Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and
don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama:

Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only
President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV.
The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You wo n't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off
satellite communications.

You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr.
Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long
as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from
Global Warming.

Signed, The People of Texas

P.S. This is not a threatening letter - just a note to give you
something to think about and maybe a chuckle!

SLEEP WELL TONIGHT "THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU!!"

Mike,

You're entirely correct! Now that England has lost so many of their gun rights they are all crying in their warm beer! Well, it's too late for them but one thing they ask themselves:"Why didn't we oppose those laws when we could have stopped them?".

I hope we NEVER have to ask ourselves that question! We won't have to if we support the groups that support out rights. If not a member, join the NRA or GOA. If you are a member, try to get friends to join! It will make a difference.

boltman,

I like that letter from Texas. Makes Texas look better and better!

Texas will not go the way of New England, California or Canada! I believe it is technically correct that they are the only State in the union that has it written into their State constitution that they can secede ftom the rest. And, they just may do it someday. I'd like to head South for retirement anyway.

Uh, if I remember correctly they tried it once. Still part of the United States. Not that I think that they didn't have the right, but the side they ended up on just didn't have the might in the long run. Too bad because we could have depended on foreign oil from Texas instead of everyone else and their brother-in-law. Would have made a nice buffer between us and mexico too. wink grin

Guess that when ammo is outlawed only outlaws will have ammo. I got plans. wink smile

I guess this would make "rolling your own" illegal?

Who's going to round up the BILLIONS of rounds of non-serial numbered 22 short, long and long rifle ammo?

How will they fit the serial numbers on 00 Buck shotgun projectiles?

Come to think of it....... it sounds exactly like what those dumb s**t liberal politicians would come up with. I know, lets spend tens of millions of taxpayers dollars to do a (falsified) study to "prove" how this "great idea" is going to put a stop to ALL CRIME in our Country. Freakin' morons. It just pisses me off so much.

To make matters worse, I just saw a tv news blurb about Obammy and Nancy Pelosi "making nice" (unrelated to this topic). And that whinny leftist pr**k Al Frankin won his senate seat. I could puke.

It's a slippery slope and I personally am tired of sliding on my arse. -TomT

Al Freakin didn't win squat. He flat out stole it. Funny how whenever more votes were found and counted there were always more for al than for Norm. mad

Why do you suppose he chose to run in Minnesota? He of had to run in Texas too I suppose but the word would have taken on a whole new meaning. grin

I guess the upshot of the whole thing will be that they will create a whole new class of outlaw. If I can't live with the laws that some arshole dreams up that only leaves one option. I would echo some of the sentiments posted previosly
