I love gangster rap because they write songs about their guns. I find that hilarious. I used to identify with it a lot in college when I wasn't able to get a date, so I spent most of my time and effort going shooting and buying up AK's, packing 9s, etc.
All the white music groups were whining about girlfriends they lost or how their life was miserable now that they were famous...What's up with that?
[Chorus: 50 Cent]
My buddy, my buddy Wherever I go, he go My buddy, my buddy You can run for your life when I stick him out the window My buddy, my buddy I lay your ass out [bleep] its simple Stay in your place your place I recommend or say hello to my little friend
[Lloyd Banks]
Everywhere I go I got a tagalong Cause my buzz gettin' strong and they mad I'm on He ride with me when I pass the mall Or wait for me on the bench when I run a game of basketball One sqeeze will make a bastard fall Gasp and crawl You need a bulletproof vest mask and all Bring your buddy when it's time to roam (why?) Cause I got hit the last time I left mine at home My hand bling full of platinum and shine his chrome He even got closet space inside of my home He ain't never been broke he glitchless So reliable I bought him a rubber coat for Christmas Infared beam and a scope for distance The best company when approaching business He who ride with me to the end We all gotta friend And mine is a G-U-N.
My buddy gotta temper he dyin' to pop off Last time he did the cops had the block all locked off Took him with me to the hustle stashed him in the trash can My finger tips sore for four hours I bagged grams You meet him, your destination hell or heaven Cause I only bring him out for that 187 He dont have a heart I just keep feeding him shells He get it poppin' in the hood so his name ring bell Ms. Jones stay on the third floor she call the cops on me They came I ran I had to toss my other little homie [bleep] they know I got new friends so they stay in there place kid I stay screamin' on [bleep] and beatin' up base heads These [bleep] sayin' doley just like they pretend Keep [bleep]' around they gon say hello to my little friend.
[Young Buc]
We been through it all yet we both still livin' We been in a box but we both still spittin' And when there was beef you even played your position Got under the seat until we spotted our victim At first they wouldn't listen to they heard you go off Remember it was broad daylight in the middle of New York And little did they know we was ready for war Bet that [bleep] wished he'd never stuck his head out the door See whenever you come out something happen on the block You the reason that [bleep] done stop rappin' like Pac People see you ain't run and you even say [bleep] They just know you ain't nothin' to play wit Stay wit 16 homies and one in the hole When the first one get out the next one go To know where your headed you gotta know where you been The Glock stay with me we friends till the end.

Why should white groups lower themselves to the level of the "[bleep]"? If that's not third world trash, grits ain't grocerys g

Any idiot with some time in kindergarten could write a piece of useless crap like that. The lure of that sort of music is that it is style dependent, not artistry dependent. Anybody is able to mimic the style, and be successful. Perfecting the artistry of your instrument takes dedication, time, and brains. It permits you to interpret the music as you wish, not as you must, given your limitations. Most people would be surprised at the depth of talent of most popular performers. The good guys make it look easy.

I just wish there was some rock music about guns and stuff.
Buying his Glock a rubber coat for Christmas, I laugh every time I hear that.

Even the corny songs of our day had a story to tell..
OK Derek, 50 cent loves his gun, Commander Cody loved his car, you tell me who had the better talent?
My pappy said "Son your gonna drive me to drinkin' If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln"
Have you heard the story of the hot rod race Where the Fords and Lincolns were settin' the pace? That story is true I'm here to say I was drivin' that model A.
It's got a Lincoln motor and it's really souped up That a Model A body makes it look like a pup It's got eight cylinders and uses 'em all Got overdrive, just won't stall
With a four barrel carb and dual exhausts With four-eleven gears you can really get lost Got safety tubes, but I ain't scared The brakes are good, the tires fair
Pulled out of San Pedro late one night And the moon and the stars were shining bright We was drivin' up Grapevine Hill Passin' cars like they was standing still
All of a sudden, in the wink of an eye A Cadillac sedan passed us by I said, "Boys, that's a mark for me!" By then the tail lights was all you could see
Now the fellas ribbed me for being behind So thought I'd make the Lincoln unwind Took my foot of the gas and man alive I shoved it on down into over drive
Wound it up to a-hundred-and-ten My speedometer said that I hit top end My foot was glued like lead to the floor That's all there is and there ain't no more
Now the boys all thought that I'd lost my sense And telephone poles looked like a picket fence They said "Slow down, I see spots!" The lines on the road just looked like dots
Took a corner, Side-Swiped a truck Crossed my fingers just for luck My Fenders was clickin' the guard rail posts The guy beside me was white as a ghost
Smoke was coming from outta of the back When I started to gain on that Cadillac Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass Don't ya know by then we'd be low on gas?
Had flames comin' from outta the side Feel the tension, man what a ride I said "Look out boys, I've got a license to fly" And that Caddy pulled over and let us by
Now all of the sudden she started to knockin' And down in a dips she started to rockin' I looked in the mirror, a red light was blinkin' The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln
They arrested me and they put me in jail And called my pappy to throw my bail He said "Son, you're gonna to drive me to drinkin' If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln"

Don't forget R. Dean Taylor, Indiana Wants Me: One of my old favorites.
(Police Sirens)
Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there I wish I had you, to talk to
If a man ever needed dying he did No one had a right to say What he said about you And it's so cold and lonely here without you Out there the law is a-coming I've been so tired of running
Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there I wish I had you, to talk to
It hurts to see the man that I've become And to know I'll never see The morning sunshine on the land I'll never see your smiling face Or touch your hand If just once more I could see You, our home and our little baby
Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there
(Police Sirens)
I wish I had you, to talk to
I hope this letter finds it's way to you Forgive me love for the shame I've put you through and all the tears Hang on love to the memories of those happy years Red lights are flashing around me Good Lord it looks like they found me
Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there I wish I had you, to talk to
(Repeat line "Indiana wants me Lord I can't go back there" over and over with background of "This is the police You are surrounded Give yourself up" and fade)
Problem is, where is this talent in ANY music today? Taylor Swift? Britney Spears? Nickelback? GAG ME!

Most people today lack imagination so they're a bunch of followers. The world is full of people who think they're doing their own thing.
People with imagination and real guts blaze their own trails.
Any idiot can follow.
And all of them do. That's a fact.
Teach your kids to be imaginative and to be an individual. They'll thank you for it with everything they do. Some will even thank you for it verbally... once it dawns on them what it was you did for them.
