Mr Sampley has certainly earned the right to support whoever he chooses , especially considering his military record. However, there is one very big difference between his record and mine, he enlisted, I was drafted. Therefore, his motives are questionable.

After taking some time to steady that web site ,I'd like to add something to my previous comment. Probably the majority of us that served in Vietnam witnessed or were part of things that probably would be better left there, that especially holds true considering we never had the support of our country as a whole in the first place. Moreover, Mr. Kerry no different than thousands of other guys that serve there and made mistakes, probably in most part because this country was screwed up itself. In hindsight to be judgmental thirty plus years after the fact of those GI, only goes to show what we haven't learned about Vietnam. The fact that the M-16 is still in-service only proves my point.

All,

A view facts, will be using the same piece of junk ( M-16), only a modified version with the famous jamming problem. LOL

Also the link provided below will provide proof to those that entered Vietnam through the 90th replacement center after March 5th 1970, that I actually was there.

There are from spelling and grammar problems in this discussion and others I've been involved in.

Aha...he enlisted, and so his motives are questionable?
Hey Drift Dodger, he went voluntarily, while you waited till you got drafted! Whose motive is questionable?

BTW, I do thank you for your service, and I don't mean to question your motives. Don't get me wrong: Just cut the BS and stop trying to question motives of someone that voluntarily enlisted. That's ludicruous.

Matthis some of the drafties where barely out of high school when they recieved their draft notice. I was still in high school when it all ended and the boys got to come home, so I never had the priviledge to ponder the thought of going to war when I was eighteen. But I do respect anyone that spent the early years of manhood fighting for their life. Whether they was drafted or volunteered they all got more than they would have ever expected.

My hat goes off and my heart goes out to any one that has served our country in war time.

Freedom is not free so thank at VET.

All,
Here's a link that will provide evidence of the ultimate disloyalty shown by our country right after Vietnam had ended. Based on this evidence it was obvious the voters in this country had their heads up their ass before, during and after Vietnam. This was the ultimate display of disloyalty by far or anyone person..

Particulary if you consider that we have a completly volunteer force today and the fact that as an enlisted member with a family (a rising number of military do now) you quallify for food stamps until you make e-6.

Did my taxes and realized I could probably declare myself a non-profit organization !! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

All,
I've always known Mr Do -Gooder (Jimmy Carter) pardoned the drift dodgers that ran to Canada and elsewhere. What I didn't know until learning of that report, this pardon (freeride) was promised prior (before) to being elected. Which means after 58,000 loss their lives not to mention the hundreds of thousands that was wounded ,our society supported these lowlifes over veterans. And my opinion our society no longer qualifies as being preserving as judgmental over any of us that did our duty. One of the reasons reported back then was because he Mr. Do-Gooder accepted campaign contributions from wealthy families who had lowlife's living in Canada. This was to my opinion the ultimate betrayal to any Vietnam veteran discharged honorable and/or otherwise. However, after 1968 any National Guard that didn't serve in Vietnam and to my knowledge there was none, qualifies as the same type of lowlife's as those that chose to run. The National Guard during junior bushes time was nothing more than a safe haven for drift dodgers. If our country requires us to serve in combat, then without question need to be loyal.

Larry the only proof I saw in your other thread was that you were a troll there also and got banned. Really doubt you were ever in Viet Nam or any branch of the service. As I recall the whole country knew that Carter promised to pardon the deserters prior to his election, unless you were to young to read or watch TV. Go somewhere else to peddle this crap.

Rest assure any veteran of that era knows exactly what I'm talking about. In the fall of 1975 I was engaged to become married in the spring 76 to my wife now of 28 years. Most veterans was still trying to put their lives back together, some of us made it others didn't. One in particular was a very good friend of mine I grew up with that had been drafted in 67, did duty returned home six months later took his own life. Then there's one of my brothers wife brother that was drafted again in 67 three months in country took a bullet in the neck has been completely paralyzed from the waist down every sense. Three years ago one of his lags needed to be antedated because of infections and from what I understand the other leg is now infected. That's just two guys I grew up with, not to mention the ones I served with that had been drafted. Neither of the two guys or any others ever received justice for their duty and were seen as nothing more as humans that could be used for political gain. Their memories along with the rest that did their duty then and now is still being spit on by those who never had nothing to lose.

I'll be more than happy to provide the name of my brothers brother-In-law that could be verified through public documentation.

Hey REMF,
You still have not told us what unit you served with and what your MOS was. I was an NCO that went to OCS and have never been anything except Infantry so my opinion is EXTREMELY suspect. I'd like to see that 201 file that states you were anything but a dope smoking shaming dip [bleep]. 67% of Army troops in Iraq and Afganistan are National Guard. I'm talking COMBAT troops. How many troops were being sent to Vietnam in '72 when President Bush was in? Not a whole lot.
Lets see- JFK got us into Vietnam - LBJ escalated the war - Nixon got us out, he is the bad one. Vote D for dumbass.

The problem with guys like you, you're always trying to make something relevant that's not or have information to discredit and impeach someone's credibility ( the Bush administration these days). The only information that's relevant to this discussion is my military classification which was A-1 US and I received an honorable discharge from military, the citizens army or militia. To simplify, strictly following orders from the chain of command and never volunteering. It would be interesting to know how many with my classification have came out in public against Mr. Kerry. It also would be interesting to know the ones that did what their classification are, I'd bet they're all enlisted. That's not met to diminish their credibility, only to bring into question their motives"dumbass".LOL
