Thanks for all of the reply's ! I guess I can't really go wrong with either.I'll also check out the 300WSM.I guess I still have a few months to figure out which one I want before they hit the gunshops!!

If you slipped a 100g .243 slug into the boiler room an Elk will go down probably just as fast as anything else, but personally if I was traveling out of State or any distance I'd be a whole lot more comfortable with as heavy/fast a bullet as I could shoot well.
Shots aren't always the perfect broadside that you see on the TV shows and I'd like something that I'd feel comfortable slipping in at a quartering away angle if that's all I had.

Yea, you can go wrong with both!! If you pick a fly weight, ready splat, factory load for either cartridge and the bull doesn't cooperate and give you a heart/lung shot, you'll be loading heavy for caliber Partitions for the next one.

Dober I've gotta new FN 270 FWT that eats them like candy. I was planning on the the 300 Roy for elk this fall but I'm starting to waiver. It's hard not like a load that is always under .75"!
