Got a question for your bow hunters/shooters. About 2 weeks ago I was showing my bow to friend at work, I pulled it back to show him how easy it was and when I went to let it back down, the string popped off the cam. The string and cables are brand new and had about 30 shots on them. Has anyone had this happen before? I've pulled my bows back like this many, many times and have never had this happen. I've had the alignment and cam/wheel checked and everything seemed to be in order. This happened on an 08 Matthews Drenalin LD.

I'm guessing you had some serious hand torque on the grip when you were letting down.
It's possible to torque the grip enough to derail strings and cables. Probably nothing wrong with your bow.

Without reading Bighorn's reply thats exactly what I was gonna say. Id just shoot it.

BTW do you shoot a aftermarket grip for it?? Its the best investment you can make for a Matthews bow.

Thanks for the responses, that's kind of what I thought but figured I'd ask anyways. Grip is a stock grip though it did come with a Shrewd grip which I sold.
I have to replace the string on it because when it popped off it wedged inbetween the limb and cam and pretty fragged it.

Inspect the bow limbs and make sure there is not a problem making the cam or idler tilt. Could just be a freak thing, but I'd give it a good once over before shooting again just to be safe.

It's been checked over by 3 different folks, one of which is a sponsored Matthews shooter and they all said everything looks straight and tight. I think I may have just torqued it when I drew it with my hands, instead of using my release like I normally do.
