I did wind up with one. As mentioned, the QD feature did not seem so important considering the quality, and the price savings. I used it to put the Weaver Classic Extreme on my old Colt 6700 HBAR.

Mike, The one that I purchased had a small sticker on the base that said Made in China. I have one Burris scope from 12 years back or so and even the lenses were made in the USA.

The scope or the rings? I just bought this scope two weeks ago from SWFA, and it's made here according to the script on the scope. Can't say where the innards are made, but the glass is pretty damned good whatever it's origin.

I peeled the stickers that said made in China off mine as well. I still think they will be all right. I don't like the Chinese stuff either. Tough to buy anything not made there now.

Mike, we are all complaining that the PEPR is made in China.

Gotcha. Just surprised me as the rings that I bought were made in the PI, and the scope was made here. Just goes to show, you can never tell.

Yep, The clue for me that it was made in china was the "made in china" sticker.

Not a bad price considering the rings are part of it.
I tried an Armalite mount, but it doesn't get the scope far enough forward.

I used one to mount my Leupold 1.5-5 on my M&P15x. Seems well made & required very minimal lapping. The China thing is definately a bummer but didn't know that when I ordered it. Other than the China issue, I would recomend a P.E.P.R. Well made but possibly a "matter of principle" thing. Just my $0.02

I have three brand new PEBR's that I'd let go for $87.00 each shipped if anybody wants one?? Shoot me an email. I had several on back order and only needed two. So these are extra.

I have two as well. If I had known they were chinese, I never would have given them (Burris)my money. That being said, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and I have no complaints other than country of origin. I have Larue mounts as well, but for recreational guns I do not need whiz bang tactical. They extra 1 minute it takes to remove my scope and PEPR mount using a conventional wrench or pliers is not going to make or break my coyote hunt. Not to hijack but, Mackay is this a Bison upper? 16 or 18" ?

Upper is a 6.8 from AR Performance. 16".

My brother picked up a PEPR for his 6920 to remount a big Nikon variable. He uses his for a varmint rifle mostly; hasn't gotten a BUIS yet. Had been getting by with some Weaver type rings that were too low. He likes the PEPR so far; couldn't talk him into LaRue.
I have the LaRue SPR and used it for a 30mm 1.5-5X Leupold on my LaRue SS upper, but decided to switch to a light 1-in. Leupy 3-9X and simply got a set of Weaver see-thru rings at Wally World. The right height and easy to remove with a dime, back of a knife blade or multi-tool. Fixing to get some Magpul MBUS, but right now it's just a hunting gun.
In the next round of AR fun, I may put the 1.5-5X back on one of them with the T1 piggybacked at 1 o'clock. It would be the shizz on my semi-only Colt Commando for work, but don't want to induce optics envy in some folks...

Curious if anyone has used the Rock River mount and pro's/con's to other one piece mounts.

I have and there was not a single thing wrong with it. My dad needed one so I gave it to him. The RRA version (at least the one I had) was not a QR type, but that is really no biggie for a recreational gun, at least to me.

I just picked up two of the RRA mounts, and with one that'll live on a predator persuit, and the other on a future M4 style I can live with the not as quick release, and definite savings.
I was just wondering with all the talk of the burris PEPR unit and RRA offering a domestic mount for a fairly reasonable price why it wasn't mentioned.
