Thanks, it's a nice looking rig. For some reason, when the sights are on it, especially the front, it makes the FWT contour barrel appear thicker, which is quite nice IMO.

DD; Thanks, I missed part of your original question, no I didnt shorten the Bbl...you are right, the sights just make it look a little fatter. To the dismay of the pre-64 lovers...I like the XTR push feeds...7x57 is my favorite cartridge, so I spent a few dollars modifying that rifle, and like any semi-custom touches, I spent about $800 to turn a $600 rifle into a $350 Rifle!!! laugh

I just picked up a M70 Ranger in .270 Friday. Adjusted the trigger, cleaned the bore, and shot it on Saturday. 3-shot group measured 7/8" c-t-c. Works for me.
