Marcus, you're going to love that 556. A few months back I was in the same boat and decided to go with the sig. Now I've been bit by the bug and I'd like an AR as well. Anyways, enjoy yourself...you're going to find that ammo has a way of disappearing quickly with that rifle. It is flat out fun to shoot. I've never owned an AR. Shot M16A2s in the AF without any optics. If I'm hunting 4 legged animals, especially ground squirels wouldn't any good 3-9x variable scope work well?

Yes get the SIG, it will serve you well. There are no problems with the gun, none what so ever, customer service is great, the bolt will last a million rounds, it shoots into .1 inches at 300 yards great gun. I hope people buy a million of them. They are much much more reliable than any AR. You deserve the SIG jump right on it. Don't do a web search on any of the AR forums that say its a total POS, its just jealousy and prejudice and ignorance. Get one and be prepared for anything that comes at you.
