And when? Anyone leaving their own state to hunt game this fall or winter?
Mine sounds boring, but I only got moose hunting lined up so far this fall and perhaps caribou as well.

bearstalker,
I hear you, I hunt more than most, but never enough to suit me. Leaving for sheep in 8 days, then will do some moose hunting come Sept. 1 thru 4th, then in town for a day and back to Moose hunting if haven't filled the freezer by then.
Maybe South Dakota Pheasant hunt in November, but at this point it's a maybe. I miss the days( just not enough to go back <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />) when I spent 28-42 days in the field here and then would come home work for a month and take my wife and kids down to see my family while I went deer and/or quail hunting. That was almost enough field time. 1ak

Staying in Montana. Deer (whitetail or mulies), antelope, bear and elk. Maybe some upland birds if the weather stays warm.

Envy some of the opportunities listed above.
Will hunt elk, bear, and javelina (actually in February) here in New mexico.
Plan to hunt whitetails in Nebraska and considering a American Bison hunt in Kansas. Neither of these are confirmed yet.

UT- cow elk; haven't decided what if any general season tags I'll pick up.
WY - Muley buck and pronghorn doe
ID - Whitetails
I plan on hunting waterfowl and upland game in ID and UT. If I get home (IN) during an open season I may try to tag another deer or two, but will definitely chase some cottontails with beagles.

antelope is still pending but no elk tag for me. my fiancee and her dad BOTH got one though. Darla got a antlerless elk good for 630 and 631. her dads is way over by Lolo and is also antlerless. that with both A and B deer tags for all 3 of us, my brothers deer A tag and a possibility of 3 antelope tags between the 3 of us is ALOT of meat. WHOOOHOOOO the freezer will be full again!

Staying here in Texas, but I will hunt Whitetails, Mulies, Trukeys and feral hogs. Might even throw in a little Dove and Quail hunting to keep things well rounded. Will start with the dove on September 1st and end with the Quail Feb. 28th. Whitetail Deer and Turkey will be from November 6th through Janurary 5th.
Mule Deer is from November 20th to December 5th.
Can hunt the hogs year round.

I plan to hunt the following in my neck of the woods: cougar starting opening day (august 1st), black bear (opens Sept. 7th), deer in mid October and spike elk (opens October 30th). Then I will go on a drop camp elk hunt (starts Nov. 6th) in the Snake River Unit of NE Oregon and hope to take my first mature bull elk. Rufous.
