No problem....just pay the green fee and your good to go. grin

I did some work on that new sub division that went in just north of there....lots of turkeys in that sucker. A guy could come in along Bull Jr Creek and have at it.

I'm not sure if that clear cut is city limits or not. It is pretty good sized. If nothing else, they might let you sit with a bow.

Can I play too?

Killed four with one shot. Remington 870 12 gauge Express Magnum shooting Federal 3 inch, 2 ounce load of # 6 shot.

Unusual color phase gobbler I killed on the Red River during the mid 80's.

I called these two gobblers in for my son who killed them both with one shot each. He was shooting my old 20 gauge 870 loaded with Federal 2 3/4 inch shells with a 1 1/8 ounce load of 7 & 1/2 shot. That old WingMaster is slick and fast.

We each took a nice gobbler this day.

Another nice West Texas bird taken with the 870 Express Magnum. [Linked Image]

Another bird from the Red River area during the early 1980's.

Great pics guys. My son and I hunted NH the first 2 days of this Fall season, no luck. Lord knows how many Boar descended on the property we hunt. I think they pushed the birds into woods. We did pattern the flock but it was too late. Scouting, we saw a ton of Toms, some monsters among them. Back at it come May.

Every now and then I let someone borrow the Encore, and I have to pull out the backup, a Beretta Extrema. But, the 20 Encore is my "baby". wink
If the stump looks familiar, it's the same one I use every year at the farm. Several toms have posed for the camera, atop the cedar stump. grin

And this one I had to work my tail off for. Had to endure a little funky weather. eek
It took 'em a couple days to get settled back down. Weather warmed back up, and melted the snow off. I woke up to this.(NE also)

hey tzone,

I'm use a T/C Omega ss/syn, shooting 245gr PowerBelt
being pushed by 100gr of 777 loose powder, using Win 777 primer,
with a Vari-X 3-9 compact. Deadly set-up. I put a small buck on
the ground this morning.
The breasts from that turkey filled a gallon bag, the beard went 10 1/2", my biggest bird yet.

Yukon,
I love my Encore, even more so since I sold the 12 and went to a 20. Still kills them just as dead as a hammer but without the recoil.

10-4. 33 yards on one this past spring, and one of my NE birds last year dropped at 42 yards. Da 20 got plenty a punch, eh?

Finally was able to connect on my first bird. This was on forest service land DIY.Not the biggest bird, but it will do! Used my uncles MDL 12 Winchester that he gave me. Sent him a pic and he was pleased that I shot one. 58Gscott[Linked Image]

scott,

Congratulations on your first gobbler! If you're lucky, you'll be hopelessly hooked like the rest of us. It's good, clean fun!
