Shooting Glasses!
A couple of months ago while getting ready to start another job, I went to the local tool and safety supply and bought some gloves, hard hat, and safety glasses. When I got to the job site the next day, I found out we had to go through an orientation taking most the first day. They wouldn't let us use our own gear, preferring to issue us their own, all new! The safety glasses were the same as the ones I had bought, but they issued me 2 new pairs anyway. They had to be up to/or exceed Government standard Z87.1 and had to be both high impact resistant, and wrap around/or side shielding. They block over 99% UVB and 99% UVA. They're made of plastic of some sort but have multi-coated lenses.
These glasses are the "UVEX Genesis" with Uvextreme coating. They're anti-fog, anti-static, anti-scratch, and anti-UV. I have the dark gray lenses, though they come in other shades.
I've never worn sunglasses (or any glasses for that matter) because they always seem to throw off my depth perception. In my field of work I can't have that, but these seem to clear everything up for me, without throwing off my depth perception, and my eyes don't get tired like they used to after 10 or 12 hours of work.
One pair has lasted me 9 weeks now wearing them all day and every day, and still not a scratch on them.
I've seen these same glasses for sale at re-loading supply's for anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99, but at the tool supply I go to I was able to get them for $9.30 a pair. I bought 4 pair for my range box, and keep a pair in each vehicle.
I can't say enough about these glasses. They beat heck out of what I was using at the range, and you can't beat the price. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
