Looks like a great tool in the woods. Like the metal finish.

Should be a nice shooter. The scope looks semi-tac for LR work. I'd be happy w/Talley's and something more compact, but odds are - if not for hunting, you did some testing w/that larger scope.

What bullets do you prefer in that round Eddie - for hunting.

Could not have said it better myself. The rifle probably shoots good, but so does a bone stock savage. NO WOOD = No PORN

Shall I go on now to model 700's, Nosler booleets and Loopy riflescopes? Sacred Cows are delicious! <G>

Eddie,

Hope you don't mind a little funnin around. I don't care for a synthetic stock, but I don't doubt that yours are good shooters. To each his own and many here would find no use for my checkered Walnut and high gloss blue rifles. To each his own and hunt with what you like so long as you are killing game cleanly and having FUN!

Glad you are here, posting, and building what YOUR customers like and hunt with. MARK

Guys,

This was a friends rifle that I refinished in 09'. I was the original owner and sold it when I was converting all my rifles over to left handers. It shot very good. About 12 years ago I dropped 2 cull deer off a farm up in the NW U.P. at respectable distances of 440 yards and 513 yards (ranged).

If I remember right it was twisted specifically for Nosler's 120gr BT. It did the job well, but you didn't want to hit bone if you were worried about blood shot meat. One through the lungs and they usually didn't take one or two steps. Also made for some very good, dead woodchuck pictures in the springtime.

Much better bullet selection nowadays for the 7mm's. It was definitely more limited back then.

safariman/Mark,

No offense taken, I knew you're just havin' fun and not directing it toward me. Now go oil your blued rifles so they don't rust, and re-seal your walnut stocks so they don't move around on you! grin

Mmmm, two-eighty-four.
Best cartridge to ever hit a short action IMO.
Sharp looking gun man!

Man,I really love hand cut checkering, high polish blue, checkered bolt knobs, inletted sling swivels, ebony fore end tips, really nice wood, I just couldn't bring myself to rough them up in the woods chasing elk. I sold two such Coopers last fall, one in Claro Walnut and the other in French Walnut. Extra nice wood on both. Both have been replaced with custom synthetic and stainless rifles. I still have a few high grade Coopers, but they are not big game rifles and don't see the hard use. They get shot a lot, but sometimes on a cold and dark winter night I'll take one out and just pet it a bit. My wife thinks it's a bit weird...
