WaHooo!
Went to the Eugene, Or. gunshow yesterday, did some trading and a lam stocked 9422 mag. follered me home! Can't belive the prices of these guns nowdays. Have owned two walnut stocked XTR's in the past and gave around $200. for them. Had to give $550. for this one. Have only seen pictures of the lam stocked model so they must be kinda rare. Got to dig out some ammo and give this gun a good "shooting" (grin!) Can't post pictures but this is one good looking little carbine! No blue ware or dings. Appears to be brand new. No box though.
One happy old gun "loonie"

Nice find!!

I just bought one off the classifieds here. (my 3rd)

Mine is an XTR 9422M & I don't have it yet. Bought it from mule deer & paid the same price you did.

Here is the picture mule deer sent me. He's on a big mulie hunt right now so it will be about a week before he can ship it but i'm in no hurry, this one is just going to sit in the back of the safe for about 4.5 yrs (until my youngest boy turns 10) grin

Then he'll have one just like his dad & his big brother.

I'm loony for these little guns, just love em!!

Something clever here.

Shot the "new" 9422 Mag. today. Got one 3 shot group of .75" And one 5 shot group of 1.5" at 30 Yards with semi-buckhorn sights. Put a fiber optic front sight on for the last group. Didn't shoot any better, but was able to see the target WAY better! Next change is a Peep back sight...(grin!)I'll keep you posted!
Gotta LOVE them 9422's

Also wanted to add,
This gun was 1 foot low and six inches to the left at 30 yards. I don't think it was ever sighted in, confirming my guss that it was brand new and never fired.
Also have a 9422 22LR classic model with the pistol grip. Have owned several others over the years. Gotta LOVE the 9422's (grin!)

Anyone have any idea what the production figures were on the lam stocked 94-22, like the one I just got? Just wondering how "rare" it actually is.
Thanks!

I posted this on another thread. . .

http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/FIREARMS/winchester_9422.pdf

Check this link. Its a 9422 owners manual and mentions the laminated stock. It also makes a statement of "0ver 25 years ago. . " Since first year production was 1972, this means the laminated stocks were produced in the mid 90's time frame. From what I recall, I don't think Winchester stayed with the "Wintuff" laminated line for more than 5 years. Just from that standpoint, it makes the laminated stock version a bit more of a rarity and they do seem to command higher prices.

FYI - Winchester made two different laminated stock 9422's, for 10 years each - the WinCam (green lamo) 1987-97, and the WinTuff (brown lamo) 1988-99.

Have had a bunch of 22mags over the years, down to 4 now. Two bolt marlins, a 57M Marlin, and a greenlam 9422m. The 9422m will shoot as good or better that the bolts. Had a Marlin 94M several years ago that didn't feed worth a hoot and wasn't squirrel head accurate. The 9422m is a keeper.

Nice rifle. I didn't know they made laminated stocks on them.

Last week, I traded for this 9422 (not Mag) with a walnut stock. It's my first Win lever rimfire ever. It was unfired when I got it, but it isn't now. It's the trapper model, I guess: not very familiar with the rifles. I know I like it.

I know this is an old thread, but... smile
Winchester also made a gray laminated stock in 17HMR, and they called it a 9417. I have one I bought new in 2004.

I had a 9417 and have regreted selling it. I also a several 9422's and 9422m's. I have a Final Tribute model and a 9422 with what I would call a gray laminate stock. It is a good looking gun. Not to mention an excellent shooter

You know I hear tell gluttony is a sin. Be happy to relieve some of your burden in the 9422M area. grin
