I liked the bit about:

Well, despite all the yuppie jargon it is a pro-hunting piece. True, that... I did like the part about the good feeling of filling your own freezer!!! They just discovered what we've known all along....there IS hope... Ingwe

Not everyone is lucky enough to grow up with a father that liked to hunt and fish. My father worked in a factory all his life so hunting and fishing was his passion, as his job wasn't.

Not only very pro-hunting but very true in many places. Son#2 is a building contractor. He is out here to the farm about three afternoons a week and Saturday. He usually has a new hunter along. Just last Thursday the district manager of a large bank killed one of our designated cull bucks. His feet never touched the ground. He and his wife were over for Sunday dinner of bacon wrapped back strap fillet done over coals. To see the light come on in his and his wife's eyes at that first bite was really something. I know of 3 hunt clubs that have waiting lists. It used to be that on our Sunday shooting gatherings here that most of the shooters were friends and neighbors now the mix is about half new or first time shooters who want to hunt. I have single mothers who come out with a son or daughter, no gun, lots of questions, and full of a sense of adventure at the prospect of "making meat". All good.
Handgun Hunter no more. STILL LOVE THOSE .41's

Have to laugh as it is under the "Dining and Wine" column! My favorite line was this one...
It really began to look like meat pretty quickly, said Brian Donato, 43, who helped to gut, skin and break down the deer into quarters, loins and scraps for sausage.
But there is hope! Watching someone dress out an animal for the first time is funny and frustrating for me...I just want to reach in and help.

Well, despite all the yuppie jargon it is a pro-hunting piece. Funny to watch the Urban League of Dumbphucks yak on what I/we have taken for granted as the natural way of life since our time began, as if they just discovered it. Wait until they figure out milk comes from cows............
