I'd like for you to please tell me what the stiffest carbon "AND" aluminum arrow I can buy is? Regardless of set up, I want the STIFFEST. I'm using it to bed into a rifle stock to stiffen up the stock so it's not really bow realated.
I'm not up on what the spine #'s mean so I just need one of you that knows to say The "Blah, Blah, Blah" made by Blah is stiff as a preacher's pecker in a ho house.
Thanks!

The spine number is the deflection of the arrow with a weight hanging in the middle. The lower the deflection number, the stiffer the shaft.

If you are going to buy ACC's for that project you are either very wealthy or very foolish. The strength from your project should come from the strength of the tubular arrow and some epoxy, it should not matter what arrow you use. Have you priced the ACC's yet?

Find a Fastenal business near you and check out their selection of solid aluminum rods--will be stiffer and cheaper than the arrow shaft. Another possibility is to check out a couple of archery shops/ranges and see if they have a broken shaft or one that has been "Robin Hood-ed". Most shops I've been in have a bunch of stuff like this and they would have to be cheaper than buying a new one. Might also go over to ArcheryTalk.com and see if you can find someone with a busted shaft that would give it to you for postage only.

There is a great thread on here in Gunsmithing I believe of a fellow that stiffens the foreend with a T shaped piece of aluminum which offers great rigidity and light weight. I will send him some carbon shafts for free. I do not have any ACC's though.

Thanks! As been stated, go to an archery shop and check out the used bin. For the ultimate stiffness, get two or even three sizes that slide into each other. I've doubled up two before to make some fish arrows, but can't remember sizes offhand.
