muzzleblast, the 8X56 is probably one of the easier ones to find but do not buy one sight unseen. More often than not the bore is toast as the ammo was easy to obtain and it was corrosive.... Yes, they seem to multiply, I didn't show quite all of them and have no idea where they come from... Good Luck to Ya!

WOW!!! There are some great looking rifles in this thread. I have to admit that I've never even given a thought to owning a Full Stocked rifle, but that might change.

I'd love to own this one. An unmolested BRNO 22F in 8x57. I could make some elk very unhappy I think that if Remington wanted to do a great classic rifle, this would be hard to beat. Just follow these slender elegant lines and run a 20" tube and sell em for the same price as the CDL. They'd be an instant hit... IMHO.

But it would still be a Remington? I would be afraid that the Remington crowd might not appreciate the classic lines of a full stock and then they would be sold a Wal-mart.They tried the "custom shop" thing and used plywood for a stock. Not really "classic" in my book.... Ruger did it with walnut,I think Kimber could....

Nothing "wrong" with a Remington, but the Kimber 84 would be a superb choice....I think they could even retain the 22" tube and really have a winner!
The Remmy model 7 from the custom shop is a dandy, but I just don't care for laminated stocks - and they're heavier than necessary.
The Ruger is a peach and I'd love to have one of the newer models...but I would rather have a bit more barrel than they supply... 20 or 21 would be great for looks and balance. My $.02

Here is one I'm working on. Carl Gustafs 1915 6.5X55 laid into a birds eye maple stock. Original barrel that has been turned down and I rewelded a new bolt handle. Trying to decide what finish to put on the stock. I want to darken it a little but really high light all the figure and grain. Need to get it D&T for a scope and get it reblued.
