I'm up to 5 of the Laupy 3x's, plus I got a Scopechief fixed 3x, and a Weaver 3x. The last two were come alongs with 722's I bought, and a PRISTINE Weaver K-6 (NO ring marks) that was on one of the 722's.. grin The K-6 is now on one of the 722's in 222 Mag.. AWESOME combo. I'm to the point where I say, what is all the fuss over variables?? I don't "get it"..LMAO

If I recall correctly, the ones posted on the 'Campfire go for about $200 -- and still they are usually gone in minutes!

Here in Sweden last year, I paid the equivalent of $US 67 for mine. smile

Many thanks to the Campfire experts (John Barsness, Dennis, etc.) who answered my questions and encouraged me to buy it -- I had never seen one, so I was buying sight unseen.

They were right -- my Leupold 3x is not for sale! smile

It'll be interesting to see where the market goes on the older 3x once the new one hits the streets. Might be some good deals available on older ones here in the near future.

I like it just fine, never didn't like a Conquest for function, it's the friggin eyepiece and size I dislike. I couldn't mount it on one rifle because where I liked it the eyepiece would hit the 'base' of the Talley Lightweights, so I couldn't mount if far enough forward.

Found another rifle that is fit though.

Yep, that is a bit of a pain. I had to use higher rings on my Ruger No.1, as the big eyepiece kinda blocked the chamber, and made reloads kinda slow.

I find with double extension rings turned to the rear I can get it back far enough to get a good brow weld... Just sayin'...

TFF, Stitka! smile (I do not think I know you well enough to call you dear!)

I predict this phrase will be a new Campfire Classic -- like a certain poster's front shoulder shot! wink

Your post made me think of this picture:

Is there enough surplus material there so you could take a file to the base and get clearance without ruining the strength where it counts?

It might be...but I've got my doubts the market changes much. If Leupie is going to put this out through the Custom Shop, I'd guess the price would be pushing toward $400. That still makes a used one at $200+ a pretty fine deal if it is in good shape.
