The mining road extending from Mahoney Park Rd crosses private property that may require permission. There is a road that circles Gym Peak to the south that has many roads that lead to the east side of each mountain. I have ridden this road on my ATV many times and have seen no Ibex during my travels. This by no means they are not present. My suggestion would be to contact the Rock Hound state park ranger or the Border Patrol in Deming for difinitive information on these roads. I have spoken to a few BP people during my travels and find them to be very helpful. Be prepared to do some hard climbing in rough terrain.

Thanks for the response and the info. I spent 4 days on the mountian last week and understand it is wickedly rough. My knees hurt for days afterwards but it was fun. Thanks again.
