I bought an almost new H&R 1871 (reproduction) at an estate sale. I've been loading it with 300 gr.LRN over 60 gr. pyrodex.
I am new to BPCR , been doing some Cowboy stuff and plan to use the '71 for that. I would like to hear some thoughts about using this rifle as an entry-level into BPCR. Thanks.

Go for it!

Actually, the H&R isn't a reproduction, because it is made in the USA by the same company that has been making them since 1871. It's the real thing. Think Handi-Rifle.

Let us know how you like it.
