I'm just gonna hunt the varmints and bobcat as I've never taken either. I may go after a black-buck and shoot one that's just a wee bit bigger than Steelheads. So, my Kimber 223 for me.
My kid will most likely go for a pig and/or Axis black-buck and he'll take his 7-08 he's had since he was 8 and we hunted the McPherson Ranch outside of Del-Rio.

I am figuring on my bringing a .30WCF that was passed down from my grandfather. I have been wanting to use it for something, and this is a good excuse. I will probably bring my shotgun and some 00 buck, and my Raging Hornet for a bit of varmint hunting.
I am planning on going after pigs, and varmints.

That was about the right ballpark for RT from (shudder) Boston. Once I get confirmation about going, I'll check in with some of you about time frames on the TX side.

George Can you fly out of Massholechussetts with a gun? I need to do some research but I'm betting the answer is yes. Interstate travel and all.... I always fly out of Manchester but the price diff. was, IIRC, about $150. Same distance from home to each, I just hate Logan. George

I remember driving through MA with 2 handguns on the way to a Maine bearhunt. I was told upon arrival in Maine that I was lucky we didn't get stopped in MA for any reason. The hassle would have been bad to say the least.
Anyway. Sure looking forweard to meeting those attending this shindig. The hunt will be fun, but the meeting and greeting will make the trip for me.

Dan/George...As of now, my tentative is arriving at around 330pm,San Antone, and staying at either Contessa or La Valencia on the RW Thursday night. I could arrive at 1030am and check out the usual tourist sites before the hotel allows guests but I think I'll just stay overnight Sunday and have one last night of fun and then fly out Monday am.
There should be a nice handful of top-shelfers in SA Thursday night. We'll meet up somewhere for certain.
I'll give specifics when I book but the Dulles flights out were either 630am or 1030am, thereabouts. I'm going to call the ranch and see if they'll permit me to UPS me and my son's gear to arrive at their place a day or two before. Same thing out.That way, no rifle worries and just an overnight bag.
