Dennis,

That is a gorgeous rifle; thanks for sharing the photos! Was that built on a 1908 Argentina Mauser?

SSB- That Sauer is a beauty as well; a worthy heirloom.

When I was shopping for such a rifle a while back there were several of both 9s and 9.3s (in the x57 variety) available. I picked the latter, but would love one example of the former as well.

Dennis has given me pointers on my 9.3 as well; his generosity is a great example of the type of guys that are here on the 'fire!

Apparently it was built in 1908 and shipped to Africa, where who-knows-what went on with it in the German Colonies there. According to the dealer I bought it from in the 1990's, it was sold with many others and sent to the US as the colonies changed their style and management in the '60's and '70's. So far as I know it was an original production of a sporting rifle.

Thank you for your nice words...I appreciate it.

Dennis

Thank you...that is very nice of you. It tickles me no end when a bunch of other folks are also interested in rifles like these.
