I've only tried the 50 grain Dogtowns. I used them in 2-.223s and a .221 Fireball, and my buddy tried them in his .223 and .221 also.

We had very poor results from those bullets. No pretty way to say it, they sucked in those five rifles. MAYBE they won't suck in your rifle, but being 0-5, I won't buy any more of them.

I tried them with six different powders that worked well with other bullets, no joy whatsoever.

The .20 cal. 34HPs did fine, after some tinkering, in my Savage .204, and not terribly awful in my CZ .204, either. I'll buy more of THEM, but not the 50 .224"s.

Dunno how the 55 .224" will do, or the 34 gr. .224s. I might try some of the 34 .224s, as I just got a new .22 Hornet, and I'm looking for an economical bullet for it.

Hmmm,

So far my luck has been pretty decent with them.. not benchrest quality, but neither is the price.

But they have been more than accurate enough for Sage Rats out to 250 yds or more. they are about the size of a 12 oz soda can.

lightman: Midsouth Supply has the same bullets, and their regular prices are usually below Midway's "sale" price.
I have had good luck with the 50gr Varmint Extremes, out of two different AR's...grouping just under 1" with a couple of different recipes.
I just bought 1000 of the 55gr HP's, and the first loads hovered around .75"..a good start on the first try
The 20gr .17 do even better out of my 17Ackley Hornet, and the price is right!

+1 Midsouth's Varmint Extreme bullets are the same and usually cheaper. Have you seen the new bulk Dogtown 50 and 55 grain HPs from Midway?

as an addendum, or tip.. the 50 grainers shoot more accurately in all my 22 cal centerfires than does the 55 grainers..

can't see the reason why, but that has so far been the experience of shooting maybe 5 to 6 thousand of each.

oh and I get them thru Mid South also, after I saw they were the same bullets..
