Not being familiar with the area or hunting conditions, I am curious if you asked about ranges we will be shooting?

I'm going to have to make certain my son has a walkie-talkie so he can call before he shoots an black-buck or Axis. I can just imagine him hanging with Scott who convinces him to shoot a dink just to run up my tab.

Gonna have to do a first come first served with my on those species. Will be near impossible for me to pas up on a trophy sized Axis or black buck.

They are saving that one just for you. Bet they take Visa, so no worry.

Going to be lots of clients for this hunt. Guess we need to get busy and send in 1/2 of the money.

I'm calling tomorrow Wtxj. PM me your cc number and I'll take care of you so you don't get hit with the long distance charge.

You'll find I'm rather generous to folks this way.

I suspect shots will be as close, or as far, as you want them.

Your a great guy Bob, if I could only figure out the PM deal the CC number with the 3 little numbers on the back would be on it's way. I'll just find you a cigar to smoke instead.

Thank you. I have no idea what terrrain and brush conditons are like. My vision of Texas is from my childhood in El Paso. Like Wyoming it can be very different from one area to the next.

It's going to be a great 4 days, kills or not.

I'd settle for half the fun I had in Tennessee but with all the new guyscoming that I'm looking forward to meeting, I'll be as content with the socializing as I would with the hunting.

However, I've never varmint hunted before nor have I ever hunted at night except for bullfrogs so I'll admit to being stoked as to that. It would actually make my weekend if I finally saw my first live bobcat.

You've been in that part of Texas...It's pretty rough... Not as rough as your mood is gonna be on Sunday after the Cowboys thump the Queens...But it's pretty rough... grin

With the exception of 4 days of spot and stalking with Dave Dumas, one of your DFW radio guys, we were in ground blinds most hunts. We climbed some buttes and hiked over some rough areas though, you're right about that.

It's the ony thing you have about right,though!

============

byc is a travelling BBQ tourney guy hitting places like "Memphis in May" and the like. He sent me some of his rubs and they are superb. He and Pat will have a good old time at the BBQ pit, if that were to happen.

Pat always had a good crowd around him, though. He's that likable even though a white shirt with a badge!
