In case not all of you make it over to the Hunter's Campfire...
Fellow Campfire member and my lifelong friend SharpsShooter died this morning in an automobile accident.
Josh was a man of impeccable character and integrity above reproach. He was my son's Godfather and the man I named my son after. Josh allowed me the honor of being his best man in his wedding. His generosity knew no bounds and I have countless reminders of this around my house. Everything from the Ithaca side by side he gave my son, to a longbow and knives he made for me with his own hands. A finer man I have never known.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lisa, two sisters, Amy and Kay, his brother Justin, and his mother. He will be sorely missed.
My heartfelt prayers go out to Josh's family.
John
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I'm deeply sorry to know that. I've had many conversations with him about his fine rifles. I'll miss his insights and gentleman's demeanor. I'm also sorry for your loss and his family's.

Truly sorry for your loss. Lost my best friend and hunting partner 6 years ago in two days. It's hard for some to realize the magnitude of a loss with a bond like that. Gets better with time but still hard to take - particularly during hunting season(s). Do all you can to help his family during this time. That as much as anything will help you too. Here's hoping you all can find some peace and comfort. It's a difficult time and you have my prayers.

What a shame. Josh was a really nice fellow on these boards and had exquisite tastes in rifles. His posts where both memorable and enjoyable. He will be missed.
My prayers go out to you and his family.

Seems impossible he could be gone. We had long strings of PM's that went back and forth over weeks of time. You're right he was a really great guy to speak with( write with) and I will miss his input and insight on this site!

Josh was truly a fine man in every sense of the word. Those of you who never had the opportunity to meet him have no idea how he will be missed.
I have shot rifle competition with him, hunted with him, and my wife and I have been guests in his home with him and his wife on numerous occasions. It was a blessing to have known him.
Our grief is profound.

If a man is blessed to have a few friends of this caliber, then he is truly blessed.
A man asked me the other day, if I could live forever, would I want to?
Nope. Too many people I look forward to seeing on the other side. As the days go by, I feel like I identify more with them than ever.
Condolences to you and your son.
