The water ain't hot here either. It's all spring fed though, so it's around 70, more or less, year round. Here there is still ice floating in it in May! brrrrrrr And snow still melting to make the water.

John Gierach wrote an excellent chapter in one of his books about floatin' that river and fishing for Guadalupe bass... I'll be bringing waders and a rod. One hog is enough for me, if I can get on that water.

Truth be known...me too. I lease 10K acres of pigs here. The rivers in Central Texas are oasis's.

Truth be known...me too. I lease 10K acres of pigs here. The rivers in Central Texas are oasis's. I'm in---Lot easier to travel with a fly rod than a bunch of fire power. One is enough for me. Sounds like hooch on the oasis....

With a little Blue Fly Cafe. I know Bass are C&R. but I'm grilling everything else there....maybe some deep fried perch. Oh yeah!!!!!!

I know we're talking crawfish on Friday (if available) but a fish-fry Saturday sounds fun. We can have fresh fish and supplement it with some of these nasty gulf shrimp,which are actually very reasonably priced at the moment, and trout and redfish that are freezer burning in Scott's garage.
