I picked up a 1981 vintage 336 30-30 that was very clean on a GunBroker auction that ended at the weird hour of 3:00 a.m. on a work night. I got up out of bed and bid on it the last twenty minutes of the auction. No one else bid on the rifle and I grabbed it for $275.00 Kept in the safe for a full year without even shooting it. Just before deer season last year I put a small Burris Timberline 2x7x26 scope on it and sigted it in. Took it out on opening day and the first shot at game had me a nice plump spike buck. Later that morning I killed a hog. The next weekend I killed a 250 pound boar. Three shots,three kills. I regret I did not take pictures to post. These are much better rifles than a lot of people give them credit for and you guys know exactly what I am saying here.
