I traded for a SPR 2000 last year in 270 WSM. Extremely accurate, good trigger and seemed well built. Also quite heavy and I felt the stock was bulky.

I've had 3 1/2 HS rifles. They are guaranteed 1/2 MOA 3 shot groups all of mine have met this out to 300yds, both barrels on the takedown. I've shot a buddy's that also shoot superbly.

I find the stock a little thick through the grip on the sporters but that's just a preference, you might like it better than normal if you have large hands.

The Mag box's limit the WSM's to 2.860 OAL which is spec but it's nice to have a little extra room.

Excellent barrels, well made actions, very good triggers. IMO good rifles for the money. A step above std. OTB rifles if maybe a step below say a Jarrett which is twice the price. The Takedowns are REALLY cool...............................DJ

Coniser me a HUGE fan of the PHL line of HS Precision rifles. If I'd have had the money, I would have purchased the .300 WSM in PHL at the local Cabelas instead of the .270 Ti I ended up with.

I thought it was better in almost every way, but it was $900 more and I simply didn't have the money.

They will perform as advertised; I think their barrels are some of the very best available.

I have one in a SPL. It is hands down my favorite rifle. I got it in a 300 WSM. This is my "go to rifle". It will shoot less than 1/2" w/ IMR 4350 and a 168 gr TTSX. I took a ram this past year at 484 yds. It is an incredible rifle!!!!!!!!

I'm a big fan. Their rifles are accurate and if you have any sort of issue, its resolved, no questions asked. My only complaint is that they are a tad on the heavy side; probably as much to do with the bedding block as anything.

They SHOOT !!

The ultralight is a great rifle if you like the WSM's they go up to 300 wsm and weigh in at 5.5 lbs.

Their take-down rifles (owned two) are great for traveling and shoot sub-moa easily, my only complaint with them is they are "way" too heavy for lighter calibers.

Territorial Shooters usually has some good prices on them, they have a "blow out price" section on their website.

Question:

Are the model versions stamped on H-S Precision rifles? The reason I ask, is that I found an H-S Precision rifle at a local shop. The only identifying info is that it has 2000 SA stamped on it. Is this an older model? It's a .270 WSM with a thin, fluted barrel. It's light, too. Feels lighter than my .270 WSM Kimber Montana. Olive colored stock. Must have been on the shelf for awhile as well as they have the price sown to $1799.

Thanks for any info.

They must have changed the stock over time. Mine has the smallest grip of any rifle I have handled. It is one of their older ones built on a Rem 700 action.

I bought one from a fellow campfire member in .280. It is an older model on a 700 action and it is very accurate. I plan on sticking it into a Mcmillan classic down the road (but it shoots so well I am in no big rush).

FritoBandito,

You are describing the PHL or Professional Hunter Light model I was referring to earlier. Your instincts were correct....it is lighter than your Kimber .270 WSM Montana by about a over half a pound if my memory serves correctly.

2ooo SA is correct for HS Precision

2000-Series
SA-Short Action?

That's a good price for one of the "light weights"

Checking out the specs on H-S Precision's web site, the PHL sounds like that's the one. $1799 looks like a heckuva deal, wish I had a little money laying around. I'm sure I could talk them down a bit as well.

Thanks for the info guys.

Got a PHL in 270 WSM at Cabela's for $1600 a few years ago.

Shoots lights out.
