From Bud's to my door anyway!!! crazy

I ordered it Saturday night and it's still "processing"...not griping at Bud's, I like dealing with them but I am excited to say the least and chewing my nails off.

I have a Zeiss Conquest 3x9 in Burris Signature rings with Leupold dual dovetail bases to go on top. Some day I would like a ballistic plex type scope but the Zeiss is the best scope I have owned to date. I think my well used Latigo sling will finish it off quite well. The 70 will be my all weather rig replacing the Savage 16.

All my Winchester cases were fully prepped for the Savage but I pulled the bullets from some loads already in the box and resized them with the body die and necked sized them. They are primed and ready to go, I guess I will get some loads ready for weekend after next.

Feel free to post of up pictures of your Extreme Weather...

Should be a nice rifle and good choice in scope. Almost went with a Conquest, but decided on a VX3 due to the CDS.

Haven't had a lot of trigger time on it yet, but shoots well under MOA with 165 TSXs and 150 BTs, about MOA with 180 ETips, and not enough time with 180 Accubonds, but will try again shortly with the new scope. Ideally would like to use those, so very interested to see what they do.

And is a 300 WSM, not a 270 as my name would suggest. That was an XCR I had.

My 270WSM's (Tikka T3 LS) shoot reloads of 140gr Accubonds 3300ft/s. Great caliber/bullet combo on big game here in Alberta. Love this setup. Almost prefer hunting with it now.

Here is some Extreme Weather porn. I'm ready for another one in 300 WSM or 300 Win Mag.

I'm still looking for anyone who has weighed theirs to see what its actual weight is, not just estimated.

I got one in the back of the safe waiting on a scope replacement. Chambered in the boring 30-06. grin I'm thinking hard on ordering a McMillan compact EDGE stock for this rifle. If so, I might have the perfect rifle.

Winchester catalog has the Extreme wizzums at 6# 12oz.. Even with a lighter scope and sling one has to be crowding 8 pounds.

Eight pounds is still pretty light for a 24" barreled bolt action, not the lightest but not bad at all.

I made a lunch run to the gunshop to get an AR magazine and looked at their 300WSM EW and broke into a cold sweat, I almost bought it on the spot so I handed it back and hauled ass.

Mine is still "processing", I bought my Savage from Bud's in 2006 and it shipped in five days, so maybe Friday.

The 300 WSM EW I had would shoot Federal 165gr TSX into nickle size groups at 100 with no problems. Very accurate rifle. If I didn't have other 30 caliber options in my rack, I would have kept it. I would like one in 308 though....

I have one in 270 Win..with a set of Talley LW's holding a 3-9X Leupy it's 8 lbs on the nose..

How do the short mags feed in this action??..I had a 300WSM in a Kimber a couple years ago..it fed "OK"...but a bit notchy.....I might check out a M70 EW in 300WSM....

Well, just ordered the Hunter's EDGE from Rick for my extreme weather. I couldn't help myself. I'll be curious about how long the wait is going to be.

I'm the same way. I bought the Finnlight Sako 85 in 300 WSM but still would not get rid of my 308 for anything.

Please let me see it if you do that I am thinking about the same thing with my 270. I will be interested in how it balances.
